Do you know of recent cases of mass hysteria?

I have been collecting cases for two decades.Do you know of recent cases of mass hysteria?
Christmas, Christmas shopping and Boxing Day Sales.





Also, i think it pays to be very careful about what you define as 'mass hysteria'. It could be argued that any form of 'group think' is a form of mass hysteria. Don't forget about where the word hysteria comes from too - see source below for a good annotated read.





it's not the mass hysteria we know that should trouble us - its the mass hysteria we are caught up in during our every day modern living.Do you know of recent cases of mass hysteria?
Does Hurricane Katrina (and its effects on populations in LA, MS, etc.) count? I'm thinking Superdome.

the most recent is that of the super dome in louisiana. Look up natural disasters as a header. That usually causes mass hysteria. That and epidemics or war/conflict.
