My husband has been fighting work comp for four years, it finally got to a judge in May who awarded him the maximum for permanent total disability. Of course work comp appealed that to the appeals board, his lawyer argued on the 11th of August and today he received a letter with his award on it. Now my question is how long before he will receive his lump sum and weekly payments? Thanks in advance.Anyone who knows about work comp cases?
once the case has been settled and there are no more appeals ... about a month. The bulk check will be mailed to the lawyer you sign it and send it back an they cut you a check for the amount minus their cut. (the check has the lawyers name on it too)
Don't know how regular payments work. It's possible that they start before the big check is processed.
