What were some court cases where the death penalty was an acceptable punishment do to a very wrongl action??

Charles Manson would fall under this. He was sentenced to death, but, before they could execute him, California outlawed capital punishment. His sentence was changed to life in prison, with the possibility of parole.

When California later reinstated capital punishment, they couldn't go back and re-sentence people that had their sentence commuted to life in prison, though, so Manson still sits in prison, and comes up for parole every few years. What were some court cases where the death penalty was an acceptable punishment do to a very wrongl action??
ted bundy, the hillside strangler, killed many women for years, jeffery daumer for killer and eating his victims to name 2. I think every serial killer that is caught is sentenced to the death penalty. BTK I think is sentenced but is trying to appeal that decision. What were some court cases where the death penalty was an acceptable punishment do to a very wrongl action??
the Clutter family murder
Too many to list! WWII war crimes trials at Nuremberg come to mind as additional ones.
