I was reading that, unlike in the movies, life insurance agencies do pay out claims in suicide cases. T or F?

I want to know if the beneficiaries of a life insurance policy would receive a settlement if the title holder commited suicide.I was reading that, unlike in the movies, life insurance agencies do pay out claims in suicide cases. T or F?
I held a casualty and life insurance license for over four years. As a footnote to Max there is a two year exclusion but never, never ever will a policy pay out in the case of a suicide. This also includes during the commission of a felony, partaking in a civil disturbance or dangerous sports such as parachuting rock climbing etc. The two year exclusion is for those that say take out a policy and state they are a non smoker yet die of lung cancer. The company that issued the policy can contest the payment within those two years. After that there is no recourse unless one dies as a result of those activities which are excluded such as suicide, in a war, commission of a felony (police kill you while you are robbing a bank) etc.I was reading that, unlike in the movies, life insurance agencies do pay out claims in suicide cases. T or F?
False.

Most life insurance policies have an exclusion for suicide.

Most life insurance policies also have exclusions for dying in a riot, in a war, in a military airplane crash, as a member of a flight crew, while racing, and a host of other unsafe activities.

I have never seen a life insurance policy that does not exclude suicide as a reason for payout.

The reason is simple enough: if people believed that their suicide would benefit their families, they would be encouraged to commit suicide as a sacrifice to the family.
The vast majority life insurance policies have a two year exclusion period. After two years they will pay the death benefit for suicide.
It depend on the policy. Some limit payments for a year after starting the premiums, some have other restrictions.
Try reading the POLICY. There may be RARE exceptions, but nearly all specifically exclude suicide.
Depends on the fine print. My insurance will cover suicide since I've had it long enough. I think it was the first two years that it wouldn't cover suicide.
False. Life insurance almost always specifically excludes suicide.
All depends on the policy. Read the fine print.
read the fine print in your policy %26amp; discuss it with your agent.
