THANKSHow many cases of viral meningitis are there per year?
My very good friend's son went to SUNY Oswego. He was 18 years old. He died of viral meningitis this year. It was the saddest thing I ever saw. He died so fast. How many cases of viral meningitis are there per year?
many cases if viral meningitis go un diagnosed because alot of Dr's over look it and sometimes it can resemble a flu like virus. I had it 5 months ago and was hospitalized.
I'm not doing your research for you... but suggest you check the CDC wedbsite.
Hey dear, this link right here has all of the information you are looking for. I tried to post it for you but it is too large to fit. So click on this link for the CDC page for Viral (aseptic) meningitis and it will give you all the information. Good luck!

Just to inform anyone that actually takes medical advice from this person. It is not correct and shouldn't be taken as fact or replace a doctors advice. If this person was really a RN she should have known that Viral Meningitis isn't treated with Antivirals and shouldn't have told a parent that their child couldnt catch VM from a child that was infected few days prior because if a Dr released him he wasn't contagious due to Antivirals. YOU dear should read the CDC site and do your OWN research.(http://www.cdc.gov/meningitis/viral/vira鈥?/a>
How is viral meningitis treated?
No specific treatment for viral meningitis exists at this time. Most patients completely recover on their own. Doctors often will recommend bed rest, plenty of fluids, and medicine to relieve fever and headache.
Sorry to the asker, but this just had to be said. I am not one to carry a grudge but she is just so dangerous with her medical advice and then adds that she is an RN ontop of it I am just so afraid someone will trust her. Best wishes!
